This Chapter shall apply only to waterfront properties in the R-lW zone. This Chapter shall apply to any permit for new construction that is applied for on or after the effective date hereof; provided that any structures existing on the date of adoption of the ordinance codified in this Chapter that would otherwise be subject to the provisions of this Chapter, including existing piers, hoists, gangways, floats and buoys, shall be exempt from the provisions of this Chapter, and if destroyed may, following grant of design review approval, be rebuilt to their existing dimensions.
