With regard to all matters related to employment with the City, discrimination on the basis of race, religion, sex, age or national origin is prohibited except as provided in this Section. A minimum age may be established for employment with the police department. Within the framework of this Section, the personnel rules and regulations shall contain affirmative action provisions as may be required by federal law and as regulated by the California Fair Employment Practices Act.
