A. The general municipal election shall be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each even-numbered year as specified in California Elections Code Section 1301.

B. City Council Members whose terms would normally expire on the date of the California statewide direct primary election in 2020, shall instead have their terms expire at the first meeting of the City Council following the certification of the general municipal election of November 2020. City Council Members whose terms would normally expire on the date of the California statewide direct primary election in 2022, shall instead have their terms expire at the first meeting of the City Council following the certification of the general municipal election of November 2022.
