The purpose of this chapter is to provide for the creation of accessory dwelling units and junior accessory dwelling units in a manner consistent with the requirements set forth in California Government Code Sections 65852.2 and 65852.22. The purpose of accessory dwelling units and junior accessory dwelling units is to expand the opportunity for small, lower cost housing in the City of Belvedere, while preserving the residential character of its neighborhoods.
